Sustainable Aviation Fuel from Municipal Solid Waste

Convert the energy fraction of municipal solid waste into a valuable, lower-carbon aviation fuel feedstock.

Turning Waste into Sustainable Aviation Fuel

GlobalW2E provides advanced waste-to-energy solutions that unlock the energy value contained within municipal solid waste (MSW).

Our MSW-to-SAF solution is designed to convert the energy fraction of residual municipal waste into Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) blendstock, creating a pathway that combines waste diversion, resource recovery and the growing demand for sustainable aviation fuels.

Our Role

GlobalW2E works at the intersection of waste management, energy recovery and infrastructure transformation. Every waste stream and operating environment is different.

Our Approach

Why Organisations Choose globalw2e

The aviation sector faces a significant challenge: reducing the carbon intensity of air travel while maintaining the energy density and performance required for aviation.
At the same time, municipalities and waste operators need better alternatives to landfill and conventional waste disposal.
MSW-to-SAF brings these two challenges together. Waste becomes feedstock. Feedstock becomes energy. Energy becomes sustainable aviation fuel.
Our Solutions

We transform residual municipal waste into a valuable fuel resource and help create a more circular approach to waste management and energy production.

From Municipal Waste to Aviation Fuel

Building the right facility is only the beginning. Our operations and maintenance teams ensure that your waste-to-energy assets perform reliably, efficiently, and in full compliance throughout their operational life. A modular approach allows MSW-to-SAF facilities to be developed in phases, creating a repeatable model that can scale with feedstock availability and market demand.

Installation & Commissioning

Our installation capability spans energy recovery facilities, Organic Recycling systems, Syngas Production plants, and associated balance-of-plant infrastructure. We work across greenfield, brownfield, and operational sites — applying strict health, safety, and environmental controls throughout.

Performance Optimisation

We conducts detailed technical assessments of your existing facilities to identify any performance degradation, compliance shortfall, or operational inefficiency. We then develop structured upgrade programmes that address those causes directly — through process optimisation, or the integration of complementary technologies.

Infrastructure Transformation

Our transformation service is designed for clients who are ready to make that shift. We work at a strategic level to reimagine the role of waste infrastructure within a broader energy and sustainability strategy — identifying the technology platforms, and operating arrangements that will deliver the greatest long-term value, and then building the programme to achieve them.

System Migration & Transition

Globalw2e provide structured migration management services for organisations moving from landfill-dependent or legacy treatment models to advanced waste-to-energy systems. We work closely with client teams, incumbent contractors, and regulators to design a transition pathway that is coherent, low-risk, and commercially sound

Powering Aviation Through Waste Resource Recovery
Work Process

Build the Next Generation of Waste-to-Fuel Infrastructure

We follow a clear and proven process to deliver results that are efficient, transparent, and built around our clients’ goals.

1. MSW Infeed
The energy fraction of municipal solid waste is prepared and introduced into the processing system.
2. Flash Pyrolysis
Four parallel Flash Pyrolysers form the core of the Phase 1 processing module, converting the prepared feedstock into intermediate products.
3. Fischer–Tropsch Catalytic Conversion
The intermediate products are processed through Fischer–Tropsch catalytic conversion to produce synthetic hydrocarbons suitable for downstream fuel production.
4. Refining
The resulting hydrocarbons are refined to produce Sustainable Aviation Fuel blendstock.
5. Energy Self-Sufficiency
The Phase 1 concept is designed to generate sufficient power for facility operations, supporting an integrated and efficient production model.
6. Continuous Service Improvement
Sustaining performance, protecting compliance, and continuously improving outcomes across the full operational life of the asset.
